Background

Ian has extensive sales management experience with over 20 years in a variety of front-line sales and marketing roles with Blue Chip companies, including board level sales director roles with Reuters.  He has taken the lead in many complex sales negotiations and also has experience of leading major change including the implementation of a global CRM system to 1500 staff.

Ian joined the Greenbank Partnership in 2002 as co-managing director and has focused on establishing our Driving Sales Growth practice.  This has included developing an advanced consultative selling curriculum which we have now delivered successfully to many clients across sectors, with some great results.

Clients say that he has an engaging, motivating and lively style whether delivering business development workshops or speaking at and hosting conferences. He wortks with a variety of clients, across sectors on their whole approach to business development processes, skills and leadership where success can be readily measured by clients in the form of a major increase in bottom line sales.

Skills & Experience

Ian now makes use of his ‘front-line’ experience to help other organisations make their approach to business development a real competitive differentiator, by:

  • Introducing proven, consultative, solution selling skills
  • Developing best practice sales processes and methodology tailored to our clients' businesses
  • Designing and hosting large scale business conferences which involve, motivate and engage participants
  • Coaching and developing sales leaders to enable them and their teams to perform at their best
He is able to draw upon several psychometric tools to support his work with clients including Belbin, MBTI, and Insights. He also also recently completed the Henley Management School Certificate in Coaching.

Current Interests

Outside of work he is a keen football enthusiast - both watching (for his sins..) his home team of Blackpool and also playing on a regular basis.  He has recently revived his tennis playing and on a less energetic note,  enjoys an eclectic mix of modern music.
